One of the most harmful effects of Trinitarianism is that it produces a vague concept of the Holy Spirit. There’s this idea that he is formless. The Bible has the cure for such vagueness: a sneak peek at what the Holy Spirit looks like. God gives us a vision of the Spirit so that we might have a concrete idea of who he is. Don’t we have concrete ideas of who the Father and Jesus are? Doesn't the Bible picture them for us?
The Father has ‘a figure like that of a man’ and ‘from… his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire.’ In addition, from the Father’s waist down ‘he looked like fire’ (Ezekiel 1:26-28).
Jesus also has the appearance of a man, and his body has a bronze fiery appearance.
… like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace… (Revelation 1:13-15)
The appearance of the Holy Spirit is strikingly similar to the appearance of God and Jesus, but that should come as no surprise to us. The Holy Spirit also has the divine nature.
I looked, and I saw a figure like that of a man. From what appeared to be his waist down he was like fire, and from there up his appearance was as bright as glowing metal. He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up between Earth and Heaven and in visions of God he took me to Jerusalem… (Ezekiel 8:2-3)
Not Limited by a Body
As a spirit, the Holy Spirit has no physical limitations, but having no physical limitations doesn’t mean that the Spirit doesn’t have a body. To be clear: Although he is not limited by a body, the Holy Spirit actually does have a body. As we've seen, the Bible describes his body.
And why wouldn’t he have a body? What being in the universe does not have a body? Every other being, including God, Jesus, the angels, the heavenly creatures, humans, and even animals have a body.
Great job
